OD CUACO CC FANTASY LEAGUE 2011 REPORT
The inaugural season for the fantasy league caused a lot of interest with 40 teams, under various managers taking part.
Steve Smith’s side ‘Shambles’ ran away with the title in the end with an impressive 7362 points. A large amount of research into players was taken by Steve including phoning them up for team talks before games and being ruthless in his transfers.
Alex Brown, Wendy Webster and Simon Henley all took top spot at various points in the season but not for long enough. At the other end of the table Colin Willis’ sides enjoyed occupying the bottom places.
On the players side of things Chris Webster managed to pick up a massive 1696 points and justified him in being in over half of people’s sides by the end of the season. Graham Ward, Simon Hunter and £15 million man Andrew Ainger were the next 3 but were not even within 1000 points of Chris!!
There were a couple of players who ended on minus numbers, these shall remain nameless.
Next season’s fantasy league will be bigger and better, and if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve it please email me on fantasy@odcuaco.co.uk
In total this has raised £185.20 for the club; helped by the fact Steve generously donated his winnings back to the club.
Keep your eyes open for 2012’s season and how your own playing performances have affected your new price tag!!
