Kent Met Indoor Cricket League
We have entered a team in this for 2015 and Rowan Clapp has kindly offered to skipper the side.
A basic outline for the league is for one division of 5 teams.
The teams can be from clubs, or independent teams so to speak.
Games are one hour duration. 10 overs per innings.
Games are played on a Sunday Evening – 4:30pm until 8:30pm.
If all goes to plan the first round of games will start on Sunday 25th January. (Dependent on the redevelopment being completed on schedule)
The cost of entering will have to be confirmed. But it will be made up of:
- Small admin fee (approx £10-£20)
- Cover the coast of the balls
- Cover cost of Facility Hire
The cost is not expected to exceed £5 per person for each match.
In regards to Umpiring and Scoring of games. This will be done on a rota basis throughout the season by all teams. Each team shall Umpire and Score for the whole evening of games. This is possible as teams have 2 weeks where they do not have a fixture.
This is all aimed at reducing costs to the teams. So that Umpires are not needed to be sourced or Scorers.
If you want to play, please contact Rowan. No doubt he will be attending Monday night training throughout the winter so you will be able to find him there.

Indoor Nets at LPBS
As you probably know we have again been fortunate in obtaining the use of the LPBS indoor nets from 20th January to 31st March (apart from half term) from 6.15pm to 9.00pm.
This facility has been arranged by the Players/Coaching Committee on behalf of the the Management Committee of ODCuaco C C and we hope as many players as possible can take advantage of the opportunity to prepare for the new season
The coaching from 6.15 to 7.30 will be for our Colts and for the final 1.5 hours for the adult players. There are four lanes avaialble each of which can accomodate seven players so there will be plenty of room and opportunity for all.
The entrance to the Sports Hall is slightly different this year and can be entered from the South Eden Park Road End (Eden Park Station End) where there is parking outside of the school and you enter the school via Gate 2.
Please be reminded that all the equipment must be returned as you find it.
Many thanks.

Senior Outdoor Nets Every Wednesday

__
Outdoor
nets in our brand new facility will be held every Wednesday evening throughout the season. They run
from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Sessions are supervised by qualified club coaches. The nets are also available for individual practice but must
be supervised by one of our six captains or one of our qualified
coaches.
This is the home of old but potentially useful content. Please leave it.
Day 1
Total-Play arrived on site at 7:45am on Wednesday 5th October 2011. After clarifying details with Alex Guild and Richard Ward, work commenced.
The Total-Play representative outlined the events over the next few days, which means by Friday, the base will have been dug out, kerb stones concreted in, primary aggregate laid and levelled and top layer laid and levelled
Day 2
Progress on the base for the nets has gone well with all the soil removed and dumped at the edge of the bottom car park
The kerb stones were laid complete with hunching, then 80 tonnes of grade 1 aggregate was delivered, levelled and compacted using a vibrating compactor roller and levelled to within 6-7mm.
On Friday the Dynamic Porous Aggregate Base will be delivered and levelled to 70mm depth, this layer gives the practice facility the required bounce as specified by the ECB.
In addition, the surplus aggregate has been spread across the car park, filling some of the major potholes.
Day 3
Progress is on schedule with the Dynamic Porous Aggregate Base aggregate now laid and rolled.
The top carpet and the shock absorb matting have been delivered and will be laid next week.
If all goes according to plan, the carpet and the caging will be erected next week.
Day 5 - Tuesday 11th
Progress on the base has continued and the total carpet system has been laid and bonded to the concrete kerbs.
Although, not visible the sockets have been secured in the base and await the erection of the poles that make up the cage.
The erection of the cage will take place next week.
Day 6 - Wednesday 12th
Not much to tell, no construction has taken place today.
The carpet looks good and seems to have bonded well around the edge.
As there will be no action on the base until next week, the Net Committee decided that, to protect it, some barrier was required. So, tonight, plastic barricade fencing has been erected on both sides of the base, with two of the wicket cover frames protecting the end.
