Tour 2013
Tim Smedley has done an excellent job in arranging a Tour for 2013. It will be based in Stratford-upon-Avon (ok for you thesps) and we stay in the Shakespeare Hotel (again ok for you thesps). The dates are;
28th July to 1st August with a price of £45 per night plus of course a charge for coaches where needed. Despite Stratford CC letting us down on the Thursday before tour, Tim has found us a replacement fixture at Great Alne. Sean Young of Harvington CC was instrumental in securing this fixture and deserves a few beers on Wednesday. Tour Secretary

Sunday Match

We started tour with a hastily arranged game at Great Alne CC after our original opponents dropped out on the Thursday before tour. Many thanks to Great Alne and Sean Young at Harvington. This was an ideal start to tour in a lovely village cricket club. EmblenT smashed it from the start for a career high 83 and we were able to pick up wickets at regular intervals. We were particularly impressed by the arrival of the beer car half way through the match to restock the bar. Duly emptied for a second time. Very friendly opposition who played the game in just the right spirit.

Monday Match

Monday 29th July took us to Kenilworth Wardens, current home of erstwhile Cuaco Zimbabwe tour opponent Eian Marillier. Good 50s from ChurcherT, WhiteA and CaddyL, 3-fers for HiderC and ChurcherT along with a hat trick for CaddyJ and a fine all round performance from LakeB (23*, 1-2 and a catch) were too much for a young KWCC side.

Tuesday Match

Tuesday 30th was an all day game at one of the most beautiful grounds in the country, Dumbleton. We played them as part of their cricket week on the day after their game with MCC. 599 runs in total off 91.5 overs. A beautiful 98 from WebsterC, good 50s from WeeratungeA and WebsterB. One of the best ever tour games and certainly the best ever lunch/tea combination.

Wednesday Match

Unfortunately the Wednesday 31st game at Harvington fell foul of the weather without us even getting on the coach. A shame but even this did not put too much of a dampener on tour.
