OD CUACO u14 v Hayes Thursday 5th May Frank Knott Cup
Scorecard
ODs won by 39 runs
Highlights
Sam De Vaux 50 not out
Johnny Thompson 3/18
U14s got their season off to a perfect start with a strong batting performance with the majority of the top order playing well. In fact, the opening pair played so well that a spectator from the opposition phoned our club Chairman Howard Smith to comment on their stoke play! Well done Sam De Vaux and Ollie Jasper
Run also for skipper Will Black and Joe East meant that ODs posted a score of 172 for Hayes to chase. Hayes’ top order also looked strong with their opening bat and number 3 both scoring well. However, a good bowling and fielding performance from all the ODS side meant that Hayes were probably always behind the required scoring rate especially once their top order had departed.
So well done to all those who played especially to the younger players, William East who was unlucky not to get a wicket and to Jamie Higgins who also bowled well ,for stepping up to play in this fixture.
