Pre Season Newsletter

As the 2023 season approaches, OD CUACO Cricket Club is gearing up for another exciting year of cricket.

With four teams competing across various divisions, including the 1st XI competing in the Kent 'Championship', the 2nd tier of the Kent Cricket League structure. This is the first time the club has ever played at this level, and we look forward to the challenge it will bring. Our 2nd XI also enter a new league, as the new centralised structure will see them compete in Division 5 'Spitfire' league against 1st teams such as Downham & Bellingham, and Chislehurst & West Kent.

There have been some changes in the leadership of the Saturday sides to bring some fresh energy to the teams. Nick Worsley (1st XI), Andy Rouse (3rd XI) and Steve Sawko (4th XI) have stepped down from their captaincy roles to make way for Andrew Ainger (1st XI), Chris Colby (3rd XI) and Mark Coles (4th XI). We would like to thank Nick, Andy and Steve for all their efforts over the past few years, and wish our new captains success in their new roles.

Elsewhere, we welcome the return of Sunday cricket. Our extensive Sunday friendly fixture list spans from April to October, while our Development XI look forward to another competitive year in SDL Division 2.

Our colts section also looks forward to another great season, with teams spanning across the U11 to U17 age groups. As per last year, our colts coaching will be led by Steve Wright, with colts aged 11 and below training on Sunday mornings from 10 to 11.15, and the 11-13 year olds from 11.15 to 12.30. U14-U17s will train on a Tuesday night from 17:00 to 18:15.
